Rosetails are not always halfmoons or overhalfmoons. In fact, rosetails often lose their caudal spread relatively early in life. Whatever tail type your betta is, I hope he comes around and starts acting like a healthy betta should.

All the pictures I have are from the side, and I don't have a camera right now. So it doesn't even show that he's skinny. But here he is.

Well what a pretty lil guy you got there! I have always enjoyed their beauty but I dont think I would ever own one. For whatever reason I prefer the VT. I see my pets like I see my kids. They may do something wrong and I may be disapointed in them but I will love them regardless. We cant "return to sender" our kids so why do it to our pets lol

Aww, he is so pretty!! :D
Maybe he is just adjusting to his surroundings?
They all have some kind of personality to them I think, some might take more time to show than others.

He's starting to show a bit more personality today, but still won't eat. I'm worried. He's so skinny, and he needs energy to lug around that tail!

Yeah, I like my halfmoon but he is a tailbiter and a slow swimmer. For this reason I only buy HMPK's and CT's. Although mine has a funny personality. He is fierce if he sees another betta, but he is deathly afraid of frogs and shrimp. LOL

Haha! Miki seems to be enjoying his new 3 gallon. He's swimming like crazy. If only he'd eat!

He might just need a little bit of time. My crowntail took about 5 days before he turned into a prima donna. He just kind of sat on his heater for the first 2 days after he explored, then he floated around a bit for the next couple days. They take a little bit to turn into proper bettas.
