Shrimp issues >_>

I posted this under tanks+accessories and realized the question fit better here. I'm trying to cycle my tank but all I can get a hold of are pre-cooked shrimp. Will it still work?

I think it should, as it will eventually rot, but I have no personal experience. Personally, I just put in regular fish food to generate ammonia. Dried baby shrimp seem most effective.

Yeah, some people use pieces of shrimp or fish to cycle their tank. it breaks down and releases ammonia, so it's fine to use.
