Update: His condition is getting worse :\ He has more ich bubbles all over his body. I followed the directions on the bottle and did the 2nd treatment but why isn't this working? I had a 20 gal tank and one fish had ich and spread it onto all the other fish and the medicine worked then...How long does ich take to treat? And how soon should I try this again because I don't wanna keep doing this treatment if it's hurting his scales or his breathing. He just doesn't look good. :( I plugged in the air pump for aeration; not sure if it helps though. What should I do guys? I don't wanna fail my betta! He's a buddy!

It's my understanding that the ich parasite won't be killed by the meds until it falls off the fish. Ich's life cycle can be sped up by turning the heater up. You have it at 82 which is a fine temp to get the ich to speed up it's life cycle. Hopefully that will drive it off your guy and into the water where it will get killed.

Here's an article to help with understanding the life cycle of Ich.

Update!

I wanna thank everyone for their wonderful advice. I think my fish wouldn't have made it if it weren't for everyone's great knowledge of betta care :) Thank you!

Finnian George Ridcully is doing awesome! All the ich is gone but he still looks a bit pale in color. I think that will go away in time. He is back to his active, curious self again. Yes!
