Cellophane gene & eye issues

So some of you have read about how I bought a beautiful cellophane doubletail, and learned
she's blind.

Now I noticed my cellophane doubletail male, Nimbus, appears to be visually impaired
in his left eye only. I think it's why he also tends to swim in a circle way..could be a spine issue though.
He's healthy in every other way thankfully. :)

I can drop a pellet to his left and he will ignore it...I drop one to his right, and he goes for it quickly.

Is there are information on cellos having eye issues? They both are definitely not albino.

Lighter bodied bettas in general may be more prone to vision issues than darker bodied bettas. This could be part of the reason they tend to be less aggressive than a darker betta. An average betta can only see about 3 feet into the distance, but they can see very well up close. I guess bettas are nearsighted in general. Supposedly a cellophane will not flare at a black betta, but I disagree.

Not sure what it is with cellophane...I'm guessing it's the albino gene hiding in there.

I know opaques have an issue with their eyes but that's because they have the white coloring leaking into their eyes.
