Talking Shrimp O.O

Ok this is my first time owning these lil guys and when I heard about sheading I thought, ok they loose some extra skin off their bodys. O.o This morning Im browsing Herbs tank and I see what I thought was one of my guys split in half.. I then did a count and all 5 are alive. ^.^ I mean even the one that shead even shead their antenae o.0 and legs O.o I cleaning up the peaces and tonight found another the same way. So this is sheading and the scares of shrimp murders ^.^

Yep, they often do the whole thing at once. I think they do it monthly but it's hard to tell when you have 10 and they all shed at different times. Still, they are fun to watch, and even more fun to try and count

When they molt-they can also re-generate lost legs and other missing body part-they will be soft for several hours and this is when they can be attacked and killed the easiest.

Be sure and leave some of the molted exoskeleton for them to eat to help them with their calcium needs for the new exoskeleton...with several shrimp you only need to leave one for all of them to feed off of....

oooo good advice I didn't know that and will deffonetly leave the one in there now for them to use ^.^
