Need advice

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of getting a Betta but I just have one problem. I live in an apartment by my University, about 4 hours from my hometown. I'm probably going to be traveling back and fourth at least once a month but I would only be gone and unable to feed my fish for two whole days. The best option would be for my roommate to feed him but she's unreliable. Would those feeding tablets I've seen at Petco work? Would he be ok without anything? Or are Bettas pretty good travelers?

I would really appreciate some input. Thanks! :)

People here fast their bettas one whole day to clear out their digestive system. 2 whole days is just fine and I wouldn't even ask your roommate to worry bout it.

Remember to get at least a 2.5 gallon tank :D He'll love you for it!

@bettafish15: Oh yes, I'm going to make sure to get him a nice tank. I'm going to get a 2.5 or 5 gal. I'm so glad I came here to do my research first, its sad that stores lead you to believe your fish will be happy in those tiny little tanks :(

He can go 2 or 3 days without food, no problem. Just feed him before you leave and when you get back.
