For a friend

Okay I have a friend with a new betta, a blue VT named Sudono

Now sadly she is keeping him in a small bowl, possibly half gallon, more likely a bit less...I've advised her to get at least a gallon if she can, with a heater since her room is cold. When I met him he was lying on the ground not moving much...so we floated a warm bottle and now she is doing daily 50% changes with warm water to keep him toasty and since then he's perked up.

However, the big problem is he has some white sort of fuzz around his gills which is slowly creeping towards his pectorals and anals, and he is too boyant, trying to keep his body down but his tail keeps pulling up. I forgot what this is? Shes treating him with betta revive right now for the white fuzz but while it seemed to help yesterday, the problem is worse this afternoon.

What is it and whats the treatment? f you have questions I'll get them from her asap.

First off its good to hear your helping your friend. You shouldnt do water changes and add water of different temperatures it stresses the fish extremely and a container that small should be changed 100% everyday. Sounds like fungus too. I would get an anti-fungal medication for it and a heater asap.

she's been making a lot of excuses...and therefore doesnt seem to want to get a larger tank or a heater...it sounds like he may be getting better today. Okay on the water changes...I'll let her know...I'm pretty sure she's been keeping him warmer though...when I first met him I'm pretty sure his water had to be like 60-70...i'm not an awesome guesser but it felt pretty cold >.<

anyways thanks for the advice especially on the meds, I'll relay the info later tonight =)
