Arrow GAH.... indecisive!!!

I just CAN'T make up my mind, I'm a very indecisive person.

Sorority...community...sorority...community.... it's killing me. First I'll say sorority, but then somebody will be mean and post threads about their sorority (Joking here ) Then I'll want a sorority because they look so neat. Then I remember I said that the fish I was getting from Crankyfish lives in a 10g and might get upset being in a 5 gallon instead of a 10... but THEN I ask my dad and he says "Community for sure! It's boring to get stuck with one fish!" THen I'll see an interesting sorority thread... and the cycle continues.

This tank has alot of hiding places and it seems like the possibility of disaster will most likely happen in the community (Betta would most likely hide from all the action...) But Sororities have huge faults, too. I'd have to return females to Petco (The only place that sells young, beautiful, usually healthy females around here) If they were too aggressive, and then I'd feel bad for her )= I just can't decide!!!!

Is that the only tank you have right now?
If so the male would probably get too stressed in a community.
I'd try my luck at a sorority if I were in the same position.

Good point.
It requires a VERY watchful eye.
The reason I'm only partially considering a sorority myself is from all the recent photos popping up of them.
Pretty sure I'll be using my second 10 gal as a Molly tank or a 2 betta tank divided.
If it's a ten gallon and you're feeling good about things, why not just keep 1 betta in there with some cory cats? The cories are great at night and they'd have plenty of room in the 10 gal without bothering the male betta.

I just don't like the idea of putting a male betta in a community tank. That's just my opinion, though. Bettas are solitary fish and I think that they do better alone. I vote for the sorority. :)

I'm flip-flopping between these two as well...because when I move back to start school I can free up my 10 gallon.

I've had a sorority before, and like I've said a few times, it's a bit of a hassle-but well worth it!

For the moment I'm thinking sorority.

Unfortunatly this is my only large tank that I'll have for awhile... so it's one or the other. I don't want to stress out my fish in a community...

If I'm still thinking sorority by the time this tank cycles I'll do it.

My experiences with haveing a sorority is that its just not worth it. You have to have other tanks if something happens and all the females decide to fight. IMO a community tank would be good for him. It would keep him interested and busy checking out new fish hides ect.

Oh and not sure if you know but to your takeing aggressive females back to petco comment, they flush them. They do not put returned fish back on the shelves. If the workers dont want them they will end up being flushed. So for the sake of the fish please dont return unwanted fish, find new homes.

D= that's terrible...

IDK I think the petco around here takes decent care of their Bettas (They always have pristine water) So I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be flushed.

Aggressive females now = craigslist. If I do a sorority of course...

Votes for sorority, they look pretty, the problem is always agression with one another but they will probably get over it. :)
