time to get another fish?

I went there yesterday with my boyfriend...we were browsing for another fish to put either with Marbles or in a divided tank with him. I was looking at the bettas there (of course)...and it killed me...tore my heart open seeing these guys. Some of them were dead or very close to dead...some were REALLY lethargic...but two caught my eye...I wanted to buy them so bad! one was a tiiiiny little blue crowntail female...she couldnt have been more than a couple months old...she was maybe an inch long and a quarter of an inch wide! She was adorable, and so feisty! the other was this GORGEOUS halfmoon doubletail male...when I picked up his bowl for a look at him, he immediately started swimming around and around really fast and stopping occasionally to flare...he was a lavender with bits of reddish tint, and the edges of his fins had white...god he was so pretty!
