I'd just put a part of a plastic water bottle over the out flow lip.

The water bottle thing didn't work due to the way the filter is built into the hood.

The wood was a fast boil, so I was able to line it with the Christmas moss and stick it in right now. It's hiding the heater/intake strainer. I had some spare moss and tucked it into the stump at the top. Hopefully it'll grow in there (it gets light) so I'll have moss coming out the top.

Apologies for the crappy pic. I need to figure out pictures for this one since it's got a different lighting setup.

This tank has really grown. I'm running an Ehiem filter with purigen so I've added 15 pure strain endlers livebearers, 40 super RCS, 2 amano shrimp and 2 pygmy cories.

TharB,

I'd stop stocking your tank just about here. With 15 endler's and a betta and 2 cories, plus shrimp, I'd say your 12G is stocked up. Would suggest you not add platies -- or anything else.
