UPDATE #4: Blush is going back into the 1 gallon tomorrow. I'm surprised that the heating pad actually heated it to 78*. She's looking bright eyed and bushy tailed. Eating well. She looks really anxious to have more space. She's been such a trooper. I'm so glad she's made a full recovery!

True. It was pretty easy though. I'm glad I know how to treat it without store bought meds now. They were doing NOTHING. Also, I'm pretty sure now that the "gold" I was seeing was just part of her coloring. I don't think she had velvet.

FINAL UPDATE: Blush is back in the 1 gallon now. The thing is, if I have to take off the lid to say, readjust something, such as her leaf hammock, she freaks out and throws herself against things. I don't think I like the fact that I have to change her water every other day because of how easily scared she gets. Is there any way I can calm her down?

In 1gal unfiltered containers I would make 1-50% and 1-100% a week water changes

In an experiment I conducted a while back-non-scientific I might add....I found that ammonia levels remaind safe with those water changes...provided that you are not over feeding

Okay, thanks! I never overfeed, either. I always give my boys four pellets a day, and Blush two halved pellets a day since she's so tiny.
