Guppies

When me, my mom, and bro decided to get bettas and we did, I saw a guppy. I wonder about guppies and wonder what size tank would they need, what kind of food, and other stuff. Do any of you know about guppies and would share some info with me? Or is there other fish they suggest? I plan to get one if I can. Please reply to this thread. And do not go off topic because I want to learn about guppies not birds or scalys.

Depending on how many you want to get will determine the tank size, so how many are you wanting and are you wanting to have fry.

Guppies are livebearer and the female usually drop fry about every 28-32 days more or less, both the males and females can and will eat the fry as they drop from the female, some do and some don't-have good cover for the fry will help more survive.

I like to use at the least-10g tank for a trio-1 male and 2 females and soon this number will be more as the females drop 20-80 fry every month

Guppys like hard water but usually will do fine and adapt to most hardness levels, like most fish this can vary.

Water temp-I keep mine in 70-80F water-depending on what tank they are in and time of the year

Guppies are a pretty hardy fish and eat just about anything

Some report that the fancy tail guppies and Bettas don't do well together due to the Betta confusing the fancy guppy tail as a Betta, however, I have never had any problems with my Bettas confusing guppy fancy tails as another betta, but anything can happen.

my brother had like three in a 2.5 gallon. my mom got them for him. he didnt know any better.

Cool! I think I might get a 100gallon for the basement next year! The guppies will love that! I will let them breed and try to save a few.

i'm new here n i need help with my fancy guppies
i just got them like 2 days ago
n i want to noe how to breed them i got one male n two females
i am trying to create a new color
my male is yellow
the bigger female is bluish body and blue spotted tail
smaller female is half black
i need to noe how to breed them

They breed whether you want them to or not. Your females are probably both pregnant or soon will be pregnant. They reproduce non-stop.

The fry make great betta treats too... I'm planning on setting up a guppy tank just for that, actually.

Blue is probably not going to show because it is recessive while yellow is WAYY dominate but you will have babies that carry blue so there could be blue in the future.
