Question What's up with his dorsal?

I've seen a LOT of VT's with broken looking dorsal fin tips and thought this deserved attention. What's up with this?

Neon has it, too. Do you think it's from the tip of the ray breaking in the net? You can kind of see it in my avatar.

How is it caused and how do you prevent it?

Mine has ALWAYS had that. It's normal, I think. I haven't used a net on him in ages, so it can't be from that. It would have grown back by now.
