I am confused

Sorry I'm posting so often :P

The harlequins and Phoebe aren't pineconing anymore... but now I don't know what to do. I haven't added the velvet meds, even though Phoebe still has velvet, so I should probably do that again, but I'm going to be ordering the kanaplex tonight. The only issue is that they're no longer pineconing or anything. Should I go ahead and order the kanaplex and treat them with that instead of for velvet seeing as it seems like the pineconing is due to some underlying issue that keeps poping back up?

I'd go with the Kanaplex first. I'm not very experienced, but that's what probably will help the most.

It can come and go. Whiskey was pineconing before his death and I thought he was getting better because it completely went away. It came back after about a week. I'd go ahead and use the Kanaplex and see how they respond.

You may have gotten the fish well enough that the pineconing went into remission but keep treating for the full course of meds. If you haven't started treating, do a course to be sure or just keep doing what you were and watch to see if it comes back.

Vaygirl, if i start using it and see a postive response, how long would you recommend continuing to treat them?

I did a full three dose treatment. I saw improvement on treatment 2 but kept going just in case.

The kanaplex finally got here, and I dosed the tank, though i have one more question. Should I do a water change the day of the second dose, or can I not do any water changes during the six day treatment?

You can do it right before re-dosing. It loses it's potency after the 48 hours anyway.

:(

I'm not sure it's working... The harlequin rasboras are pineconing again , though they're all acting healthy and active apart from the pineconing. The water quality is fine, the food is presoaked before being fed, they're not consitipated..... Ugh. What now? Should I continue dosing them, or just stop?

edit: I'm going to go a head and give them the second dose... maybe they'll improve with the second dose.
