Am I Crazy For Keeping A Journal?

It started with Animal Behaviour: we were cataloging aggressive responses in the lab, and we were allowed to take them home after that series of experiments was done.

My curiosity continued when I took Hamlet home...the note taking only became more frequent and detailed when we established the sorority.

Now I take notes on everything...initial behaviours, changes in their physical environment, group behaviours, physical changes &c. for our sorority and our 3 (4?) males. Also note questions about their behaviour as they arise.

Is this crazy?

Not really. Your just paying attention to different behaviors in different situations. You never know. You might come up with a break through and a mix of certain things that make them less aggressive.

Not crazy at all and even a good idea and recommended.....I have been keeping logs for as long as I can remember.....I have logs dating back to the 70's that I still use/refer to-to this day....

I keep breeding/spawning-growth & development-behavior logs on all the different species I have bred/spawned-over the years and current
Experiment logs/records
Water pram logs
Plant logs/records
Tank setup etc...
Among other things....
I write everything down in note books...old fashion pen and paper....lol....

Watching the logs has led me to question whether or not Kate is really a girl. Have a lot of questions that I find pertain to female preference in males...

I keep logs too. It helps me remember water changes and gauge their health. It's not weird. :D

I don't think it's a silly idea at all. Once I get my first betta I'm going to keep a journal to write down what's going on with him/her as well. I find that keeping a journal helps keep me organized and helps me keep track on what's going on.

Hmmm...doubt there are research/experiment ideas whose exploration is barred by lack of resources and ethical questions though. They seem to be an inevitable part of the thought process.
