Question Ghost Shrimp and sand?

Can ghost shrimp live with a sand substrate? Or would they eat it? Just curious!

They will be fine with sand....generally fish and shrimp will not ingest items that are not eatable....they may take in their mouth but spit it out when they find out is it not food.......

Shrimp will graze and pick through the sand and it may appear that they are eating it when they are eating the microorganism on it....
