I have Never seen a tail like this?

Could it possibly be a lyre tail? It comes into 2 points on opposite ends, one point on top and one on the other. What could this be?

Pics would be helpful, but it sounds like a double tail. Basically, the tail of the betta fish is divided into two lobes, one on top and one on the bottom.
go here and scroll down to see some pics of double tails.

that could be a betta with fin rot or has an injured fin that is recovering it doesnt look like a lyre tail lyre tails fins look like double tails but the tail isnt split completely in two yours just doesnt look like most lyre tails

It doesnt look like fin rot. He seems fine, hes really lively, he did, however, jump and fall yesterday, but is recovering well.

Oh.

It doesnt look to me like he has fin damage, i thought it was just a wierd tail shape. Shouldnt there be tears if there is fin damage? Its wierd that its a perfect oval shape ..

sometimes when a fish bites his or her tail, they'll take out a chunk that looks pretty ovalish (if that is even a word XD). If it's normal and born that way, it is a flaw, definately not a specific tail type. The image is fuzzy, but it most definately looks like a vt with maybe some delta tail in it, so there shouldn't be that chunk missing from its tail.

looks like maybe he took a bite outta his tail. lyre tail isn't a betta tail type(yet. lol), so i doubt it's a lyre tail. pretty boy, either way! :3
