Question Aquarium set up help plz

Hi
I just bought a 10 gallon Marineland LED aquarium for my Betta :)
I am literally mid-way setting it up right now, the filter is done (i think) but i have a question about the heater and how far to submerge it under water... the thing kind of scares me haha. It says minimum water level right below the thing at the top... and yeah, really? Do you almost fully submerge it?

Also i have a thermometer and it is just like a sticker heat sensing thing, do those really work?

Yes, Submerge the heater up to the line. Depending on the heater some tell you to fully submerge them, others don't and they give a line.

The heat sensing stickers do work, more or less. Those measure the temperature of the outer surface of the glass and not the water inside the tank. A glass floating thermometer or suction cup one that goes inside the tank is usually considered more accurate but those sticker ones will do. Just be aware that inside the tank is probably a little warmer than the sticker is telling you.

I have a marineland, too, and mine (10w) is fully submersable, but check to see if yours is. It will tell you. Also, make sure that its up to that line! It can either overheat in that section or just not turn on, Ive had that happen x.x
Good luck with things :D

Got a picture, It's not great though and you can totally see the reflection of my laptop screen in it.
My un-named baby boy loves it though... 20x more space.
I got him 4 days ago with a half gallon and didn't think anything of it but then i found all these forums and noticed how emo he looked.

He's so happy now :)

see how the lid is open like an inch, not even, SO ANNOYING
i can't get it to go down all the way :(

That looks a little like my heater. I have to say I love the way your tank looks!

Is your water level too high? Also, try turning any wires that have holes that go out from the top from either this way __ to | this way, or vice versa. My marineland needs it one certain way for it to fit x__x
Very nice :D

Thank you, I'm glad with how it turned out for my first actual tank (well, I had one when I was like 10 but i can't remember how it looked so I'm not counting it!)
