So, I placed a bid on this sibling pair on AB.. They were bred in the US, but their parents are from Thailand so.. They do have some faults, but I am wanting a new project... :]

I do not believe these betta spawn will be worth hundreds of dollars each, because the male does have a good amount of red wash. However, I would care less if I were buying from you, because he is one of the most beautiful halfmoons I have ever seen! His fins have a beautiful ruffling look about them. And the female is so cute too! Hehe. I would call the male Ruffles and the female Lace, because her scales and fins are just so detailed and pretty. :D

He says the female is good breeding stock, but the male isn't because he has too much of a red wash, and thanked the poster for sharing.

Anyway. Although red wash might be undesirable for serious breeders/collectors, I think many bettas with red was are gorgeous in their own ways, and make excellent and stunning pets despite the fact that someone high up doesn't like them. Beautiful fish you've got there, OP. :)

I love the male! But I understand the wash aspect...
Still would be a nice little pair!
If you breed him, or her, or them(!), you should toottaallly post pictures of the fry :DDD

Your Bettas are gorgeous. I have Blue Butterfly Halfmoons that throw solid blues with a few that have redwash like yours. Some are what I'd consider to be good Blue Devils. Not because of the Red wash but they have distinct Red in the fins with Black edges. If you breed those two just pick the fry with the least amount of Red wash for a couple generations. Here are pics of a Blue Halfmoon with a huge set of fins and Red wash and a brother that is a Blue Devil with humongous finnage.

Thank you guys for your opinions. I personally love this pair and their colors. I'm not looking to get a lot of money for the fry. I am breeding the pair for my own personal liking and hopefully I will be able to sale the fry as pets. I won't price the fry for very much at all. So if everything goes okay I will post pictures and keep everyone updated with things and maybe some of you will be interested in buying a few babies. :)
