New HM Plakat, hole in fin?

My new HM plakat I got from petco just 4 days ago, and was doing fine then, has now become drained and has clamped fins. I had him flare to check out his fins and saw in her tail is a perfect hole! His color does seem a little pail too, so I am treating him now for fin rot. He is in his own heated bowl with a dose of aquarium salt and a dose of BettaFix. Is there anything else I should do for him? The other fish he was next too all look fine and active, but I still treated them and will do a water change in the morning. I did a 25% change today as well. Mind you this is my new tank as well.

anyone? sorry to bother, I just worry cause he is suck a nice fish that cost me $12 and I don't wanna lose him!

Hello! I am sorry I didn't see this forum earlier. :) It already sounds like you are doing everything you can for the little guy! I honestly can't think of anything else to tell you! And believe me, I know how it feels. I spent $14 on a halfmoon at petco that didn't make it, and it was after his warranty ended, I was furious. Congragulations on your new fish! I love HMPK.

Ok thank you. He still has a few weeks left on his, but I am hoping not to lose him, he is so pretty! I will keep on updating on his progress.

I am sure he will be fine, you sound very caring. And I'm happy to hear that Petco doubled their warranty time... I bought a new betta from there about 2 weeks ago, I still have 2 weeks to go but I'm sure mine will be fine. Your's should too! And he sounds very pretty. Do you have any pictures? Sorry, I love seeing other people's bettas. :)

UPDATE: I was checking my HM Plakat today and he does not look so good. He is still full of energy, but then slows down after a while. I see he has even more holes in his fins! He looks like a burn victim. I am still treating him with aquarium salt and BettaFix, but nothing seems to be helping. Seems like its making is worse. He has loss a lot of his pretty black color too. He is now brown.

Can anyone please give me some advice??? I really don't want to lose him :(

Anyone? I would love the help. Really want to clear this up so he can have a long, healthy life.
