I'm Scared :( - Picture Included

Hi guys, I am new to the forum, this is possibly my fifth or sixth post. I have a male betta (Mauricio) and he is awesome. He has been really active, seems really happy, and everything seems ok. But... Tonight, out of nowhere, I noticed that his stomach area is huuuuge. It actually frightens me because i do not want anything to happen to him. Here is the picture, please let me know what you think.

The Picture is attached. Thanks guys!

You're probably just overfeeding. You shouldn't be feeding him more than about 4 pellets per day. I like to feed mine 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. I suggest fasting him (no food) for 2 days so he can de-constipate.

What if I am using something called BettaMin. Its the flake type food. Would it be ok to remove him from the tank for the next few days while I feed the other fish I have?

Yeah, just remove him at meal time. Also, pellets are a better choice since they have more nutritional value and you can count them out. I would suggest switching.

Ok I will definitely look into that food asap.

But for the meantime just do not feed him. Also, will it be ok to remove him from the tank "everytime" i feed him not just for the next couple of days. That would mean taking him out every day from here on out. I just wasnt sure if that was ok since he would be in the fish net once everyday. I really appreciate all of the info though. I read somewhere online and people were saying he might actually be a "she". lol.. yikes. A relief indeed..

Wow, really? What was that site, yahoo answers? Lol.

Well if you drop the pellets directly above your Betta and distract him when you feed the other fish you really don't need to remove him.

EDIT: that is, when his bloat goes down.

I was using BettaMin flakes too, but I think that might have caused Cat to get constipated, with the FD brine shrimp.
