I bought Chewie 5 days ago-ish and he seemed to be doing well. This morning he looked great but about 20 minutes ago I went to do a nighly feeding and I noticed a few scales raised. Id say 12-14 total. So naturally I did a 100% water change just in case. His water is kept at 77-78 constant, I have him in a 2g unfiltered tank with a little gravel a cave and a fake plant. He is still eating and swimming around, he will also flare at a mirror when I put it next to him. Any thoughts?
Here is a picture:
He has been nibbled on by guppies and a crawfish, that is why his fins are all weird looking and tattered. (I saved him from that tank)

I would suggest getting a heater to keep the water at a warm, constant temperature. If the fins are clamped, it means that they are probably cold. Also, how do you know the temp is at 77?
And don't get the test strips. They are very inaccurate.
I know it is because thermometer says it is. Clamped fins doesnt always mean cold... My other betta is in the same place and has his fins wide open and this only happened when I noticed his scales. Also as per keeping the water constant, the temperature in this room is the same all the time.. the thermometer never says anything different so im assuming based on these facts the water is staying a constant 77. The heater is irrelevant I would just like to know what the problem could be. His water is always clean so I know its not that.
