Yup - I remember a news story years ago where PETA members went to a bird show & put antifreeze in the drinking cups of the birds!!!!

From the documentaries I saw while being a librarian's assistant (MANY MANY FILMS) PETA is no good. They also have links to terrorist organizations.
I don't think sacrificing human lives sends a good message either.
After all, we're ALL animals.
Treat your fellow man wrongly and it's just as bad as starving a kitten.
(Especially when you bomb a building "after hours". there's still janitorail staff and security there.)

This is also the reason I hate that stupid whale terrorism show. :p

DEFINITELY DO NOT BUY THOSE LEE DIVIDED TANKS> THEY ARE JUST AS CRUEL.

Your betta will die of ammonia poisoning right in your own home just like it will in the store.
:p I almost guarantee it.

Just look through the "Betta Emergencies" thread.
I would get at least a gallon at minimum, and even that's only good for a quarantine tank if it's not kept up with. Keeping up with a 1 gallon gets to be a real pain in the long run.
The bigger you go on the tank the easier it will be to care for the fish.

As far as PETA, there's some information here, with references. I will warn for some strong language.

A very thought provoking article. I had read about PETA's killing of animals a few weeks ago. It makes me very upset that an organization could be so cruel and pointless. What is their purpose besides misleading people?
