silly filter question plz somoene answer lol

is the water in the filter supposed to be almost to the very top of it in the back?

i just baffled mine a bit and never checked before, but it's up there!

so is that normal

someone if u dont baffle ur filter (or do without problems) just go look for me please please :)
under the back hood

Its ok as long as its not spilling over the top of the filter or bypassing it on one of the sides. Baffeling it often causes the water ammount to increase because the pump is flowing more water in then what flows back out of the top, which is why its important to keep a better eye on it. Just make shure that when it does start to over flow it to take the cartrage out and dip a and swish it around in a bowl of old tank water to disloge larger particles and restore flow and put it back in the tank. Never rinse it off with Tap water or you will kill the good bacteria on it and have to recycle your tank.

Mine is at the limit and I keep a close eye on it. If yours has the ability to increase/decrease the flow, try decreasing it some otherwise follow Chi-Pete's rinse suggestion. I have mine sandwiched between two Fluval sponge filters to baffle it so mine is similar to your situation but intentional.
