My new guy, Macchiato!

I got my third Betta the other day, and keeping with the theme I decided to call him Macchiato.

I got him a new tank to chill in, and he is doing fantastic (Aside from the clamped fin...Oh well, he'll be fine after a few more days)

Poor Biscotti though, He must have overheard me talking about how I'd like to own a double veil and decided to try surgery on himself...Ripped his tail right in half. He only has silk plants now, and I checked everything... I hope he doesn't rip anything else...

Anyway, here are the photos of my Macchiato!

He's HUGE compared to Biscotti and Chai, and his fins are so long, when he settles I'm going to try and get some pictures of him flaring his lovely fins

Lordsameth ,

I love the red/black combo! I almost bought a crowntail female last night that would be a great mate for him...

She was wicked tiny, half the size of the female I did get... I'd estimate her to be 2-3 months old. She was all black, with her tiny little fin crown spikes were red. When I put the tiny little girl next to a humugous flaring male, she flared... and her scales glinted green atop the black! I wanted her so bad... but she was so tiny, i'd be crushing up pellets to dust to fed her! I'd already been beguiled by Miss America at that point. If I had another heated set-up available, I would have taken her home.... *sigh*

Congrats on your boy, he's a striking beauty!

just an update, he is doing FANTASTIC! He's eating everything, still scared of me, but if he is anything like Biscotti he'll get over it. Very active. I am expecting bubble nests from him, as he was in a 1/2 gallon tank at the pet store and still made one, so in his new setup he's doing very very well.
