Just hope I am doing this right. Tuesday will be 4 weeks with Bo. I have been doing 25% changes once a week.....well, at first twice a week but dropped down to once.
Just tested and did a water change. (API test kit with the drops and test tubes.)
Bo was overdue for his water change but I tested and did the change out just now.
High PH 8.2, Ammonia .25 (Down from my last test of nearly 4), Nitrite 5, and Nitrate 5
Bo is active, a bit aggressive but not jumping at my finger when I drop in food. He does, however, show two red lines on his head. (Vertical) so I know he is a little stressed.
I don't want to change more then 25% of his water at a time because the water comes out of my well at 7.2 but in a day or two is up to 8.2. (Not just in his tank but left in a glass on the counter.)
It seems the nitrogen cycle is almost there. Am I going about this right? Any advice on how to proceed from here?
BTW - Bo is in a 1.8 gallon heated, filtered tank.
