Small Snails

My 10 gal tank seems to have a few new in snails in there not sure if the hitched a ride on some of the plants I have in there or not but they are very small should I worry about my betta trying to eat them when he makes it over to his new tank?

And how do the snails still live when the ammonia in that tank is still around .50
