Ok, now im EXTREMELY worried.

Comet hasn't been doing well today. First it started with not swimming, but still breathing. Then, he showed me some red stress stripes that are indeed horizontal and not part of his normal coloring. He has been staying near the bottom and I am extremely worried. His fins are fine and has no sign of ich/swim bladder/dropsy/nothing. I will give you his living conditions:

2 gallon aqua scene desktop aquarium w/ lamp and airstone (I turned the airstone off)

I use topfin betta water conditioner

Top fin color enhancing pellets and top fin freeze dried bloodworms

The tank was just cleaned yesterday so I really dont know what's wrong with him. Please help.

Can you post a clear pic....

In the 2gal-how much and how often are the regular water changes, water temp, any other additives used, live plants, how is his appetite, any other symptoms beside being lethargic and red streak on his body and fins or just the body, how long have you had him and has he ever been sick and/or any meds or treatments tried current and past, any other livestock in the tank with him.....

It's possible you bought him and he had an illness already.

Ok, pic coming soon: heres the questions you wanted answered for now.

1. Once a week.

2. 79-81.

3.Topfin Betta Water Conditioner.

4. No live plants.

5. He eats well, he comes to the top for food and air.

6.No other symptoms. I will keep watching, though.

7. Only on his body.

8. About 2 weeks now.

9. Never been sick.

10. No other live animals with him.

BTW, since my camera charger is lost I'll have to use my Nintendo DSi to take pictures.. they might not be so clear but I will circle the stripes or outline them..

In white and red I outlined the stripes. He was totally a greenish/blueish there until today. I know they're not the clearest pics but I tried my best. You might be able to see the little hint of red..

Titus Flame: He was doing fine until today, unless there is an illness that can show it's symptoms 2 weeks after being purchased...

Maybe it's something with the nitrate levels, hardness of the water, or PH levels. Have you tested it?

If not that, maybe he is eating too much, or it's something with the food your giving him.

Yes indeed. :3 He was fine after that! I ran into the other room so fast because I couldn't bear to see him flopping around on the tile I didn't even see what he used to pick him up.. Hopefully not his hands :l
