Suggestions for Moving?

Soo...moving tomorrow. Camelot and Avalon are coming with me, and I'm trying to figure out how to transport them. I'll be driving, with at least one other person in the car with me (I hope). It's a good 1 hour drive, though...

I was thinking about putting them back in their original cups for the trip, but should I keep them in their 1/2 gallons? Both tanks have lids, but should I lower the water level so it doesn't spill out? Is there anything I should keep an eye on once I get them settled?

Advice or suggestions? I don't want them to be too stressed out...

Whenever I transport mine, I put them back in their cups. The lids fit securely and they don't have too much room to get jostled around in. I'd also put them in the cup holders (if your keeping the car warm enough) or in a box where the cups can't move. An hour isn't that long of a drive, they shouldn't get too stressed. Just make sure the water is the right temp and you acclimate them properly when you get there.

Hehe, my cup holders barely fit sodas, let alone the wide cups my bettas came in. I will, however, go hunting for boxes at work tonight. They shouldn't move around too much anyway (my boyfriend will be holding them), but I'm sure I can find something....

If all else fails, you could pad a box and seat-belt it in.

I wonder what people do for longer distance moves. Mail them?

long distance move some people mail, When I leave in June I am taking both my guys on the plane with me and shipping their tanks via greyhound. if their tanks don't arrive when I do, They will each be living in tiny Betta containers until the tanks get in.

I would put them in their cups and put the cups in a small box or cooler with towels, rags or newspapers to keep them from sliding around.

Merlin is staying with my boyfriend in his dorm for another semester :) Hopefully, he keeps him sane...last semester of university before graduating will be heck on him. We'll be getting a place together a few months after that.
