Tail biting or...

That started happening after the water turned green. Is it tail biting or is he sick?

It's hard to tell from the picture but did this just happened all of a sudden? Like yesterday his tail was longer and today it isn't? My fish managed to bite off about 3/4" of his tail (he's a veil tail) by the time I got back from a 30min shopping trip.

I don't know why the water is green, I've posted three threads and didn't get much from them. I was told to wait it out, but it's been getting worse...

No, this has been gradual, starting a few days after the water started turning green, so for about two weeks now. It isn't the plants, i removed them all for a few days and his tail still tore up.

I would try and PM someone again about the water. Because the only reason I can think of why that would happen is that it had something to do with live plants. If it doesn't look like its been fast see if his tail has like brownish edges and I would try and get him in some clean treated water until you can find out more about what's up. His face looks more discolored in the first pic too than the second one. Is this tank have a filter or anything?

yup, filtered tank.

He doesn't have live plants...

His face has always been like that, ever since I've bought him.

Oh crap... I did a 50% water change, and now that I can see him better...the ends of his fins are brown, and there are small holes in them. It isn't progressing like fin rot though.... I'll try and get some pictures!

I would take him out of the tank ASAP and not put him back in until you've figured out the problem...
Also, did you put in the other thread that you didn't have much for him other that a coffee cup? If so, you could go to walmart and get a tuppaware container for cheap $4 or something

A coffee container. It holds about a gallon, but I can't put a heater in it.

here are the pictures:

And LOL

But does it look like tail biting? I don't want to move him if he's biting...
