Is the dominant fish one of the males? It would explain a lot...if the dominant fish is one of the males they should continue to live together in harmony.

Well it seems to be between Bala and Aztec that have taken the top seat so to speak. the rest have been keeping to themselves either along the bottom or inbetween the territories among the plants where they cant be seen too well.

Aztec is the one who has been chasing the others around alot more when before he/she didnt seem to take much notice of the commotion Bala would create
it kind of comes as an inconvience only becuz i dont have separate tanks for both becuz im not ready to raise fry yet

The females will want to spawn with whichever one is dominant.

Hey. Just wondering which store did you get your fish from? I'm curious because because we had this happen with one of our "females" from the local Petland.

Animal House - i think its the only one of the chain in town
between senior froggy and mccleaners.

sometimes Total pet seems to have ok bettas, i mean they get really gorgeous ones but rarely do they last. I bought a mustard gas(if that is even a color) male lasted only a week

well so far their betta stock has been lacking somewhat, they only recently brought in crowntails. Most of the ones i bought tend to survive alot more then the totalpet stock. I dont know about petland but its prices are alittle lower than totalpet.
