Not a VT, but what?

I thought I was purchasing a sickly VT when I got my fish but now he's happy and healthy I've finally seen him flex his tail which turns out not to be a VT. At least I don't think he is. Is he a VT or something else?

Maybe a round tail? I am not an expert though! There is a sticky in the Betta Care section that goes through each type in case you haven't seen it yet. :)

He might be a juvie VT. He looks like his fins are growing out, just like my VT Pallas. Pallas started out with plakat-like fins, but as the weeks went by his fins have filled out into full VT. At one point Pallas had round edges on his fins. Or he could also be a round tail, you never know!

He's a pretty guy, congrats :)

That is NOT a Spade tail. His tail isn't even close to one! It has no tip whatsoever!

Oh, I had no idea they sold them so young, and have never seen a young VT previously I guess.

I have had him for 3 months I believe. When I got him he was extremely clamped up and had rotten fins. You can see his ventral fins are still pretty stubby and ripped looking.

It's nice to know he is a VT, they are my favorite. That's him in my avatar too. He's such a character.
