I wish I had more space, I would LOVE to have larger tanks! Ours are in their own 1 gallons for now, I hope to do at least 2.5 gallons for each soon though :o) I see how fish keeping can be so addictive lol!

LOL, yea it can happen, and if you like bettas, wait till you have a chance to be around an oscar, bettas are my pets, but the oscars are like my children, the pout, they do about everything but form words, lol then wait tou you really wanna somthing exotic, and travel about 7 hours to get a red-bellied piranha, he is quite a nice guy, too, nothing like what you think a piranha would be..

That brings me to another question..where do you guys typically buy your fish? Breeders, online, pet stores or all of the above? I bought our 2 from PetSmart and Petco which I was not necessarily thrilled about but we don't have a REAL aquarium/fish store close by (not that I know of anyway).

not online, though i just discoverd aquabid and having a nervous breakdown at moment.. some times at the chain pet stores, but we have what you would call an under ground lfs, it has everything you could think of. it has an 8,000 gallon saltwater pound with a few nurse sharks.. and having that many fish is not that bad, thank god my bf, knows about filters cause the cannister and sump filters look so confusing.

I bought my first two from LFS (petsmart and petco), but I didn't like supporting them (and petco is far away XD) so, my next few I adopted from people on this forum. My newest one, who is yet to arrive, I bought from aquabid.com.

Some of the stories I've read on here have MOST DEFINITELY made Walmart soooo not an option. But for now I am cool with my 2 boys. :o) I am gonna look around for an indepentantly owned fish store though (for future reference). I may take a peek at aquabid too....just window shopping lol
