Deadly Tank

I have an old (10-15 yearold) tank that i have used sincce i was..oh gosh...so little and had like 10 goldfish. It is apperantly leeching something, it killed two of my Bettas. One took a week and the other died on a day. As soon as the second fish died i dumped the tank out and bought a brand spanken new one. But now i have 2 males and 1 Female, and im lookin into another male. I have my New 10G devided and all that good stuff...and would like to do that to the other one.

what the hack could it be leeching, and how do i get it to stop? i know my mom wont buy me another tank...

I'd say you need to use a bleach mixture to clean the tank really really well. I'd probably do it several times and then make sure that all the bleach mixture is washed off. That should clean everything off - but it would still make me a little nervous about putting a live animal in there - maybe start with a few plants and see how it goes after cleaning...
