bored betta

so I figure this is the correct thread for this, but my little guy looks bored and doesn't seem happy. I was just wondering if there is anything I can use or give him to make him happy again.

Betta fish don't have the capability to feel bored. If your betta looks bored it's more likely you are bored watching a single fish exist in a tank of its own. So share with us the tank size to see if we can offer you some tank mates.

Is your fish inactive? Is that why you think he's bored?

Check your water temp and make sure it is correct (76-80F) and make a 50% water change and see if that won't perk him up...as posted they don't have the capability to be bored...change in behavor is usually related to water quality and/or water temp...and sometimes age related..

I do think it could have been a water problem, he does just sit there and it's usually in one corner thats why I'm asking if he is bored.

How often you do partial water changes? You need to do partial water replacement periodically several times a week for preventive maintenance...

I agree....in a 5g unfiltered-you need to make twice weekly 50% water changes and 1-100% monthly...unless you have live plants....what is your water temp?
