Regular 40 watt bulb?? help!!

I want to give my betta some light! is it okay if I use a regular 40 watt bulb in a desk lamp?? Or is that harmful to my little boy?

It's a regular light like this:


It is soft white.. I just want it to take pictures of him etc.. So it wouldn't be on him for a long period of time.

Yeah that'll be fine. =] I also suggest trying different cameras. For example my digital camera takes crap pictures of my fish but for some reason my phone takes great ones. :/ I'm not really sure why.

Though in general I highly suggest switching to CFLs (swirly bulbs) and trying to dispose of the CFLs as safely as you can manage. They last much longer and use a lot less energy.

Less money your family has to spend on electricity and less electricity wasted.

Which also means one less mountain being destroyed for coal. <3
