If you have never even had a betta I wouldn't even think about breeding right now. Buy your first betta (I suggest pet store since Aquabid is expensive) and focus on it for a few months, making sure it is healthy and also so you can make sure you even like bettas! Also, not to be rude, but just an idea of what you want to do is soo not enough. Breeding takes a LOT of care, time, and very importantly, money.
So I would just stick with one betta until June or July, and THEN think about breeding.

-Water changes about 4 times weekly
-worms/brine shrimp for variation
