Dividing up my tank?

Okay, Mister Fishy is currently ill and bloated, and I can't do this till spring break anyways so it won't happen till March/he gets better, I'm just planning ahead.

I have a 10 gallon tank. Mister Fishy is currently the only occupant of it. It's heated and filtered.

I want to divide it up and put another male Betta on the other side. Mister Fishy should not have any problems with the other Betta, because I've tried to do the mirror with him/there's a Betta on his background and he really doesn't care. He's an indifferent fishy :P

I found the thread on making my own tank divider, so I'm going to use that, but I'm wondering what steps I should take to divide it. I'll do a 100% change before dividing it and I'll rinse all the gravel, I'm just wondering what else I should do, if anything, and I was curious for any tips you have about putting two Bettas in a divided tank.

Thanks :D
