Gimpy issues

his name is now Remy, btw, after Gambit, from X-men. maybe, with a strong name like Remy, he'll pull through! :D

so, my walmart betta is a bundle of owies.

he has almost no tail at all, just a stub of tail(i affectionately call his butt stub) and a strand of tail up top.

now, i've noticed a wound on his side, probably caused by the fight(i belive he was put in another male's cup and removed when he "lost the fight"). would the aquarium salt and IAL i put in to help with his fins, help with that?

he is all floaty. should i feed him a pea, like i do with Cup, or just leave him alone? he hasn't pooped at all yet, and won't flare, so i worry.

when he breathes from the surface, bubbles escape his gills the moment he takes a breath. is this normal, or should i worry? D:

poor, darling Remy. he tries to swim, but has issues from the SBD. D: he WANTS to explore, and gets around pretty well with his butt stub. if he'd be able to sink and float when HE wants to, he'd swim pretty well for a nearly tail-less betta.

i know. ;A; see why i had to have him? i worry every moment about him, and even moved Dante and Caroline off my computer table so i could keep an eye on him.

The only thing I could think of is just fast him longer and the bloating should go on its own even if it means not feeding him for nearly a week. Along with to help heal his tail is keeping up with the daily water changes and aquarium salt. Oh this also might help is use some tannins ie Inidan Almond Leaves Oak Leaves or Diet Green Tea. Atleast with the tannins it should help make him feel more comfortable.

You could try feeding him daphnia. It works as a laxative, and fish usually love it!

Chewie has fin rot and it doesn't look like that. Im pretty sure that is bitten off. Although chewie had his fins bit off and it developed into fin rot (am treating him atm) I would suggest Aquarium salt treatment for no longer then 10 days, and you should fast him like Pete said till his bloat goes down. I am assuming the "Floatyness" you said he had before is that he is just de-stressing from being at wal-mart and the trip home. Thats what I did with chewie and he is getting MUCH better :)

Fin rot isnt gone but his fins are growing.

Oh, poor little Remy but just imagine about how pretty he will be when his tail grows back!! If it does that is. I love Little Remy's coloring!!
