I think it is finrot because of the holes and brown edges. Or if it was tail biting it might be a secondary infection. My betta's tail didn't have any brown on it after he bit it but I started him on AQ salt treatment right after he bit it off. Regardless I would get him in a QT container and treat him for fitrot. Do you have aquarium salt?

Also, if it was tail biting at first it could be because he's bored or his tail was too heavy for him.

I sure do have aquarium salt, but i can't use it anymore. I've been treating him with it for 2 weeks.

Would it be okay to switch my Betta up, Biscotti is in a five gallon and Macchiato is in a 2 gallon. If I switched them and used the 2 gallon for QT is that alright? If not, can i have some suggestions on what to use and treatment?

Do you have like a small rubbermaid bin or something similar? Like shoe box size? I use those as QT containers. I think you should stop the salt treatment right now, they're not so suppose to be on it for more than 10 days. Or unless someone more experienced says to keep using it. I just know it's not good in the long run for them. I would do daily water changes in the QT bin with conditioned water.

I don't have one... I think I'll switch up tanks so Biscotti will be in a smaller, easier to clean one. I'm sure Macchiato wants a bigger tank anyhow.

Can there be problems with switching Betta tanks, or no?

I'm not sure actually, if it's cleaned really, really well I don't see the problem. Are the tanks cycled at all?

Hmm, I'm not really sure how to go about changing cycled tanks. I'm cycling my first one myself. I would just assume you keep the tanks and just keep the same filters and just check the water to make sure it's doing okay for a few days. So I guess it would be like a 100% water change. Just make sure the tank the healthy fish will be going into is rinsed well.
