Thumbs down Hmmm what is this?!

Okay so I am a little paranoid about Betta illness's. I always am for the first few months of having a new pet. I was the same way with the turtles for the first few months... Anyways to my paranoia... I was watching CoCo swim around after a water change and I noticed that on his fins there is some new black coloring... Not like fin rot but like... speckles. Sorry for the dust on the tank... CoCo is in a 2g unheated unflited... he will be upgrading to a 5g heated filtered this weekend.

I think that's natural coloration. :) Bettas, especially blue ones I've noticed, sometimes get those spots or stripes on their fins. Like this betta on aquabid; http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...shm&1297926556

Notice the spots in his fins?

Oh ya! My betta has those too! I was hoping that they weren't an illness. I know that when lake fish like bass have spots like that, its a parasite of some sort.

Yeah, they're pretty common, but I think they're gorgeous. :) Sometimes when they're really prominent, they produce really gorgeous fish.

I'll see if I can find some examples for you. It looks really pretty, anyway.

Thanks so much guys... :) I feel better now. Its mostly because i thought oh crap now 2 of them have fin rot! LOL Chewie had fin rot when I bought him, I wasnt aware right away so didn't start treating it until a few days ago.
