Getting my first shipment in tomorow! I would love to hear how everyone goes about acclimatizing thai fish, timelines and step by step would be loved.

Tailbiting is usualy a sign of stress/ Boredom.

If you have only just got your Betta It will most likley be stress. Try make sure he has something to hide in

I just got him. He is laying at the bottom of the tank panting. I am worried. :( He is my fist betta. I hope he is just stressed that it gets better.

Turn your tank light off and try lowering the water a bit(Untill hes settled/more relaxed).

Yep that looks like Tailbiting all right.

Get a coffee mug if you have one spare. Rince it very well, And lay it in the tank on its side.

This will act as a cave and might make your betta investigate a little bit more.

I don't think you'll be able to fit a coffee mug in that tank you have. I looks like one of the tanks I just got rid of and it was only able half a gallon. I had a silk plant when I had that one so maybe get one of those if you don't already? It might help.

You are right. It is a small tank. But I am cycling his 5 gallon and getting it ready for him. He does have a silk plant in there for him to hide and he just recently discovered it. I can't wait to get him in a bigger tank.
