My First Aquabid Boy!

I finished acclimating him, and he's beautiful!!!!! His fins are ginormous, and they're really bulky because of all the extra branching, but he can still swim quickly with it.

He's a bit stressed, so no pics because I had to turn the lights off. He's currently exploring the tank, trying to decide which wisteria plant he likes the best to lay on XD. Lol, I love him already, he's such a little scaredy cat! He hides behind the heater whenever I come close with the camera, and he'll freeze when he sees me.... hopefully he'll lighten up a bit at breakfast time tomorrow. :3

so far, he's pretty mellow, a bit of a scaredy cat, and almost lazy (probably due to his large fins). He likes to lay on my wisteria and on the heater. His face if freakign adorable, there is a bit of pigment slightly covering his eyes, making him look a bit sleepy at all times~ And he's magnificient. His color looks anywhere from blue to green in different lights, and his rays have a silver sheen to them.

Here's his aquabid pic~

green and black together and gray and black together are two of my favorite color combinations congrats on the beautiful boy!

Thank you everyone. I've figured out he is a very steely blue color most of the time, but in specific lights he does seem to be that green.

I might be naming him Tux, short for tuxedo... but if you can come up with a better name, do share!

Gorgeous! I'm sure he'll warm up to his new environment and soon he'll be rushing to the front of the tank when you walk by!

:D I just got him to eat one of two garlic juice soaked pellets, which is pretty good. He's warming up a bit, and a lot more calm and less freaked out. I tried to get him to flare, he did a small flare and than swam away. XD

Wow, JK - he is GORGEOUS!!!! Lots of good luck with him!! I love the name Tux - I think it really fits him well. Once he settles in, we're looking forward to more pictures!

Thank you Pekemom and BettasAreBomb~ I'm hoping to have pictures posted by tonight, he has come out of his shell so much, and is constantly swimming around and laying on his plants.

bettasarebomb: well, he was 10 dollars plus 5 to get him imported to the US (payed to the breeder), then to the transshiper, I payed a total of 39 dollars for shipping and handling... IMO, he's worth the price (he's most of my christmas money), but next time I buy from aquabid, I'll probably be buying from breeders here in the US, that way all I have to pay is for them plus shipping.
