Gray discoloration around gils and jaw?

I just got home and noticed my male VT Seafood has some gray discoloration horizontally back from his eyes, some just behind his gill, and some on his lower jaw. It's possible that I just haven't noticed this before but I think I would have by now. The first pic is from last weekend and the second pic is one I just took. The first picture shows some of it that I didn't notice before but there seems to be more now. The rest of his body looks fine and colorful as usual. The tank is a 2.5 gal planted uncycled tank and i keep it around 80. I don't have a test kit so I don't know the water parameters. Any ideas on what this is?

Those are stress stripes. Check if there's anything that cold be bothering him.
