I need a Tank Mate for CoCo!

I am getting CoCo a 5 gallon tank tonight and I want to get him a tank mate.. I dont want snails (as I already have 3 who live with windu) What, in your opinion, are the best? If I get what you suggest I will let you name it! :P

Shrimp are your only other option. There are tons of varietys and they are very interesting creatures.

Shrimp are not the ONLY other option but probably the best.

ADFs are okay aswell but they can be very sensitive to water conditions which can be harder to control in smaller tanks. If you go with them you have to be diligent in testing and maintenance.

I would go with shrimp in a 5 gallon though.

I heard that bettas will sometimes try to eat the shrimp and they get stuck in their mouths and die.

That is only large shrimp. And it is still rare. If you are worried just don't get ghost or amano shrimp. All other dwarf shrimp are small. Red cherry, blueberry, Crystal Red, yellow, blue pearl, tiger, ninja........... There are all kinds of shrimp!
