Oh, I understand. Thanks for the help :) does it have anything to do with tank size? He's currently in a half gallon tank, but I'm going to get him a 2 1/2 gallon tank soon.

It could be size, Is it heated? Bettas need a heated tank. 2 1/2 gallons sounds nice. just make sure to get him a heater if you don't have one yet.

Unfortunately, it is not heated. What kind of food do you feed your betta? I feed mine Hikari Betta Bio-Gold. Is the food the cause of him not eating?

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions on heaters/caves etc. I have a question: Some people on this forum put mugs in their tanks, I don't think one will fit in mine. I want to keep the airstone tube so how could I put a cave in there? Anyone have any small caves they can suggest? Thanks again for your input, guys. I might consider saving my money for a HM, they are gorgeous. :) The setup you just saw was about $40, betta and all the supplies (food,tank,net, everything!) So hopefully I can some good grades and get some money for a betta and a tank :)

@BettasForever
For a small cave u can go look at ur local pet store for anything small or go visit a craft store for a Terra Cotta pot, u can try those, some people even have really small one's, just remember to cover the bottom hole..some member's Betta's got stuck in them.

When I had my first Betta, someone on here suggested I get another one because they are kinda social creature's and they can keep each other company when ur at school.

How about a shot glass? Your parents have one of those sitting around doing nothing?
