brand new gravel siphon leaks...

I bought a brand new gravel siphon last night and I wanted to test it out to make sure I knew how to use it before it came time when I needed it so I filled a tank and put gravel in it... when you fill it up the first time with water to fill the tube.. the tube leaks everywhere...

this is the exact siphon i bought:

Where the blue and the big tube are is where it leaks. Is there any way to fix it or should I just return it?

I'd just return it and get your money back or exhcange it for another mate.

If this is the siphon I think it is, the large head part detaches. Before you return it, try to push the smaller tube in further. It could be they just aren't connected tightly enough.
