10 gallon tank. New setup. Petsmart you are too expensive!!

Yes! I spent $170 yesterday. I swear I could have cried and I think my mother is plotting to have me kidnapped and never heard of again! LOL I bought a 10 gallon tank for my three fish, Wartooth, Waffle, and Slayer. I put two dividers in it ($10 my god!), black gravel, some old barrels for decor/hiding spots, plant bulbs, pump/filter, air pump w/stones, heater and water conditioner. That's highway robbery!!

I'll post photos soon. I'm going to let the water heat overnight so it will be ready tomorrow. Thinking about letting them float for about an hour? Is a charcoal filter okay?

Yeah it can get pretty pricey... specially if you get all ready made :D
DIY dividers won't run you over $10 and that's enough for a couple of tanks.
Decor is another thing that is WAY overpriced at LPS but it's a matter of preference, really.
Please post a pic when you have everything set up!!
Letting them float for an hour is fine, remember also to aclimate them to the water... replace old water with new water in increments.
Charcoal filter is fine :D
Have fun setting up your new aquarium!

Small photo, I know. I need to lower the water level a bit also. The heater is putting out roughly 72 degrees.

Ooooh! Looking good!!
You might want to turn up the heater a bit if you can.
Also, I would place the filter in the middle section so the water flow is better and to avoid the white organic film over your water from forming... unless those are airstones at the end of the airline tubbing going into each section Hmm...

Oh they are! The air tubes are divided into each section. I just introduced Waffle after letting him float for about an hour. He is absolutely in LOVE with it! He's exploring and going in and out of his caves and looking at his brothers (who I have acclimated yet because I have a shortage on bags) like "haha, my home is better than yours!" This totally beats the small tank dividers I had them (like .5 gallon tank D:). I'm so glad to know that they'll be much happier and less cramped. I hope the other two react as well as Waffle has! I dont think you can turn my heater up but I will take a look at it once I'm home from school.

Ours is so expensive. It's terrible. We live in a small community where we have to drive 50 miles to the nearest Walmart Supercenter or mall. :(

I'm going to add a bigger heater once I get the spare cash. It's regulating between 72-74 degrees. I'd love for it to be 76 but that heater apparently has bad ratings. Gonna contact the company and ask for a refund later on.

I havent cycled the tank but from what I've read (I'm a bit confused) I can add some food and do some water changes every 2-4 days (not complete but small ones) and then check the levels?
