Jumping for joy??

My crowntail Betta, Fishsticks, seems to bee jumping occassionally lately. He will sorta swim fast and, well, jump, enough to make the water splash a little. Is that normal?

I wouldn't really say its normal. Many bettas jump for food, but just jumping...errmm...
There is a good chance the reason is he is either getting stuck on something and wriggling free (not good...) Or there is something in the tank that is causing him discomfort. Is the tank temp too high? Do you clean it and water change enough? If its too hot, they'll jump to get away, and same with too high levels of toxins.
