I just got my Betta, Sagan, about 2 weeks ago. and recently he has been staring into the side of his glass tank and sometimes doesn't move at all or he will thrash about and open his mouth a few times. he will swim up and down the side of the tank taping the side with his nose. He also swims around the side of the tank and softly lets himself run into the corners of the tank. The tank is 1 gallon and he has barrels to hide in in the middle of his tank. He eats like a pig and has normal bright colors.
Does this sound like he is bored? Maybe he is seeing himself in the glass and being defensive?(although i am not sure about him being defensive because he doesn't puff his gills out he just thrashes and opens his mouth a few times). Should i be worried? My friend has the same tank and her Betta does not do these strange things.
